Affiliate Program

SUETRI-B is an Industrial Consortium focused on Reservoir Simulation research. Our industry partners include domestic and international oil companies, as well as service companies and software providers. Membership in the SUETRI-B Reservoir Simulation consortium is open to everyone. The membership fee is $60,000 per year, renewed annually, although we are interested in multiple-year, long-term interactions. The membership fee is used primarily to support graduate students, post-doctoral fellows, and computer facilities.

Affiliate Program members may provide additional funding. All research results arising from the use of the additional funding will be shared with all program members and the general public.  The director of the Affiliate Program will determine how the additional funding will be used in the program’s research.

Affiliate Benefits

The benefits of formal affiliation with the SUETRI-B program are:

  • Invitation to annual review meeting of the research projects funded by the consortium. In this meeting, graduate students, post-docs, and research associates present their findings. We also discuss possible future areas of research interest and areas for research collaboration.
  • Membership allows for one person to register and attend the summer short course on topics of reservoir simulation. (Note: We have not held this course since the pandemic. We are likely to restart in 2025).
  • Affiliates will be identified on the SUETRI-B website.

The SUETRI-B Reservoir Simulation is governed by the Stanford University Policies Affecting Industrial Affiliates Program Memberships. Please review the Research Policy Handbook for more information regarding visiting scholar requirements. When we are ready to release open source code we will follow open source licensing terms as prescribed by the Stanford Office of Technology Licensing. If interested in draft access to papers and conference proceedings, contact the director, Prof. Hamdi Tchelepi at tchelepi@stanford.edu

For more information about the membership, please contact Prof. Hamdi Tchelepi at tchelepi@stanford.edu / 650-723-9476.
